RockTape

Woman with pink rock tape applied to shoulderRockTape is a kinesiology tape used to treat injuries such as shin splints, plantar fasciitis, runner’s knee and back pain. It is commonly used for sporting injuries, as the tape creates a decompressive effect by microscopically lifting the skin away from the muscle and fascia below. It can relieve pain and swelling, and promote a quicker recovery.

Myo-Bars

Applying myobars to patientMyo Bars or Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is a therapy involving profiled edge tools to potentiate a variety of muscle or fascial techniques. The method employs a collection of five stainless steel tools of particular shapes and sizes, which are used to release patients’ muscles in order to detect and resolve adhesions. Myo-Bars treatment has been used in triathlons, NRL, AFL, cross fit and many contact sports.

Dry Needling

Acupuncture needles being appliedDry needling is the use of either solid filiform needles (also referred to as acupuncture needles) or hollow-core hypodermic needles for treatment of muscle pain. Dry needling is sometimes also known as intramuscular stimulation (IMS). It is often confused with acupuncture, though the treatment tool is the same, the philosophy of acupuncture is that of Chinese medicine and not the same as dry needling.
